The CMA would like to start an archive of documents and memorabilia from the history of Midwifery in Alberta. All midwives (past and present) who have collections from the early days of Midwifery getting underway as a profession are asked to contact the College office. We will review your material, catalogue, create storage for these historical artifacts.

Land Acknowledgment

This land currently called Alberta is where the College of Midwives of Alberta (CMA) is situated, since colonialism. Long before our time, this land was the ancestral, traditional home to many Indigenous Peoples. CMA wishes to acknowledge and honour the 45 First Nations of people who were part of Treaty 6, 7, 8 signings, the Treaty 10 signings with the Metis Nations and the Indigenous Peoples, their elders past and present, who draw their ancestral lines from this land. Their history, language and culture have and will continue to influence this community. CMA honours Indigenous midwives past and present, as being integral to Indigenous Culture.
